One cannot take the place of the other but.....

Today Jessica adopted a 10 week old puppy who will never 'take the place' of Pixie, but will make his own place in her heart and her life (and ours as well).

Miles came from an agency called homeward bound rescue, website: www.homewardboundrescue.com

He is an adorable little guy who is a golden retriever poodle mix. This new breed is called a golden doodle (I think!!!!). Of course as it was with Pixie, it will be with Miles, he will spend a lot of time here and has already 'taken over' the place!

In the past I have blogged about our dog Tackla who is a pack dog and is a dominate lady. She has her own bedroom with her own bed and a basket full of her babies that she protects. She has been a sport over the years in accepting whoever we may throw into her life. First it was Pixie, then came Peeko and now Miles. Tack wasn't too sure about Miles at first, but as is shown by this picture........he has wormed his way into her heart as well.
This is Miles laying in Tackla's basket bed, something that she doesn't even let Peeko do!!!!
Right by Miles' foot is a bone that he took from Peeko. This is what I mean by he has taken over the place!

Man, so many feelings in one month with the Pixie/Miles stuff (Someone asked if it would be “Miles“, or “Myles“. In all honesty, I'm not super set on the name, sounds like Niles. For now though, Miles, as in miles traveled. I‘m pretty sure it‘s not too late to change the name as I don‘t think he has any connection.) Anyway, today was one month of no Pixie and damn do I miss that little girl. Lately between Pixie and Miles, it's mostly all I've been thinking about. Not to mention the fact that I really want to do it "right" with him and I'm soooo bad at not caving in to everything, look at those little eyes.

Thanks mom and Bobbi for being such supporters and knowing what I was feeling even when I wasn’t really saying it all (the Pixie thing was a definite jab to the heart)… I will always think of the two of you and Pixie when I see Miles. Mom, he is a wonderful Christmas present and although I was not as impressed with the Homeward Bound stuff in person as I was online I truly hope the money given goes right back to the pets.

Sidetrack… I think Miles has an extra toenail that will maybe need to be removed, like on the back of his dewclaw.

Oh Bob (cuz I always loose your blog address). No, probably should not of been crabby at the dude who carded you, but I would of done the same damn thing, probably worse. We occasionally need to relieve some of our not so nice feelings to random strangers, to spare those we love from taking the full load. As a matter of fact, I encourage all to flick off a stranger at least once weekly, just make sure that it really is a stranger. Ok, only kidding… about the flicking off part anyway.

Well Jess ya big dork did you get this site saved to your favorites NOW???? You know, even my computer illiterate cousin is able to do that as is your momma who just now started using the internet and a computer!
Miles is a keeper. I do see a little of Pix come through once and a while...like the fact that he is already eating the bird food, ignores you when you call him etc.....

Well just so everybody knows....Jack (a.k.a Miles or Myles or Niles or whatever) has decided that he really likes his new neighbors yard...yep, he just like Tack & Pekko (oh and Bobbies damn turkeys) has taken a liking to leaving nice big TURDS in the yard. Oh the smells Buster and Buffy enjoy daily. Tee Hee. Just kidding you all...Jack is an adorable dog and of course will never take the place of the Pixster, but will certainly fill the void with his love.
