She came into our lives
Almost 15 years ago
Not another such companion
Will we ever know
She was a happy one
Who loved to swim
Walks in the woods
She was never done

There came a day when

Her tail quit waging
Walks were no more
The swimming stopped
She just lay on the floor
We loved her enough to let her go
It sure wasn't easy but it had to be so

As she fell asleep in my arms I said to her
Go find Granny, Skin and Pixie too
And wag your beautiful tail
Like you used to do.
